This upcoming Monday will be a big day for my family and me. I will launch my campaign for Hunter Mill District Supervisor.
I am running on my record of nearly 20 years of service on the Fairfax County Park Authority Board and the County Planning Commission, where I engaged our community and championed citizen-supported land use policies. With the help of many of you and others, we built consensus on major land use decisions facing our area during the 2000s.
When I started my career in a district supervisor’s office 30 years ago, I learned one very important lesson — inclusion is both a shared value and an effective means for getting things done. I believe our Board of Supervisors must be both progressive and responsive to its people. That’s what communities in Reston and Vienna are demanding and I hope you will be able to join me in this campaign.
To remove any concern about my impartiality in managing growth, I pledge not to take contributions from developers with cases active or planned in the Hunter Mill District.
So I need to ask for your help in making this campaign financially viable – please donate any amount, it all helps.
Together we can bring our community together in common purpose, promote equity and make Hunter Mill District a desirable place to live, work and play for all of our current and future residents.
Please tell your networks about this campaign and join us at my campaign kickoff event on Saturday, February 23 at 2:00 pm in the new community room at the YMCA Fairfax County Reston.
